LWML NEWS
At our April LWML meeting, several items were discussed. The strawberry muffin mixes have been
made and given to Pastor. These mixes are presented to people whom Pastor visits.
Plans are being formulated
concerning our upcoming Fall Rally. We sampled two desserts, a blueberry/pineapple "dump" cake made by Carol
Perkins and an apple crisp made by Carol Throckmorton. Both are delicious. We unanimously voted to include both
desserts in our Fall Rally dinner.
Casserole dishes will comprise the main course. LWML is prewently seeking
volunteers from our congregation to help us make casseroles for a potluck dinner, hopefully, in June. We would then
decide which of these casseroles we would serve at our Fall Rally. There will be further discussion at our May Meeting
concerning this potluck dinner.
Banner samples were passed around, and the color purple was chosen. Samples
of various colored yarn were shown for members to choose for making small embroidered crosses. Light purple was chosen
for the center to be outlined by dark purple.
Our May meeting will also include discussing plans for our June outing
and for a Saturday trip to Deidre's House. Paul Anderson will be presenting our May program. He will be speaking
to us about the Eric Douglas Dettenrieder Memorial Fund. (www.EDDfund.org) which was established in memory of his friend who died in a skiing accident. The
organization is dedicated to helping people with sports injuries.
As you can see, there are a lot of things going
on with Good Shepherd LWML. Every lady in the church is welcome to attend LWML meetings and participation and help
is always welcome.
